raphael 17:35, 24 January 2014 (UTC): Proposed by Japan (Takeshi Ohhara):

  • tsunami advisory
  • fog information

raphael 17:35, 24 January 2014 (UTC): First drafts of definitions:

  • tsunami advisory: a tsunami with the potential to generate strong currents or waves dangerous to those in or very near the water is imminent, expected, or occurring
  • fog information: advisory for widespread or localized fog

Detailed definitions are at National Tsunami Warning Center (US/NOAA/NWS) from where the definition of tsunami advisory is extracted. There are 4 levels of messages for tsunamis: warning, advisory, watch, and information. If "tsunami advisory" is accepted, do we need to (a) consider "tsunami watch" and "tsunami information" too, and (b) change the definition of "tsunami warning"?

For "fog information" I have found only the NOAA National Weather Service definition: "Dense Fog Advisory: An advisory for widespread or localized fog reducing visibilities to regionally or locally defined limitations not to exceed 1 nautical mile."
