I have removed the remark "Used in conjuction with with Mariners Information Object (MIO) “shplen” in AIS context." because I am not certain that we have absolute compatibility.

I agree, although we run over very thin ice. Is it not guaranteed that ports provide the min/max LOA. Certain ports provide only length. But we are Mariners enough to interpret that as LOA. All other is more than doubtful.
