GEO OBJECT CLASSES

Feature: Underkeel allowance area

Acronym: UKAARE

Camel case: UnderkeelAllowanceArea

Spatial: point, surface

Simple Attributes: UKAFIX; UKAVBB; UKAVDB; OPERAT; SCAMAX; SCAMIN;

Complex Attributes: fixedDateRange; information; PeriodicDateRange; SourceIndication; textualDescription;

Associated information object classes: AUTORI; APPLIC

Definition:

An area for which an authority has stated underkeel allowance requirements.

References:

Remarks:

Under keel allowance is either a fixed allowance in feet or metres or a variable allowance calculated from a percentage of the vessel's draught or beam.

Distinction:

None

Justification:

New geographic feature

Comment:

Notes for DC&EG.

1. If there are different requirements for different classes of vessels, different UKAAREs may overlap or share the same spatial object. The associated APPLIC, if any, designates the types or characteristics of vessels to which the under keel allowance applies. Allowed spatial objects: Point, Line and Area. Justification: Line for when waterways are represented as lines in smaller scales; similarly point for when berths, sections of ports or whole ports are represented as points when scaled out.

2. One, and only one, of: UKAFIX, UKAVBB or UKAVDB must be populated.
