jens 08:05, 17 November 2011 (UTC)I would like to remove "required" and to add "radio equipment" to the definitions. Means the amended definition would be "A description of the handling characteristics of a vessel including hull design, main and auxilliary machinery, cargo handling equipment, navigation and radio equipment and manoeuvring behaviour."

That would widen the use of that attribute to many different purposes we have actually not in mind. For instance: The U.S. requires to use for special reports a different contact if a vessel is not equipped with particular radio equipment.

raphael 15:54, 22 November 2011 (UTC): I think both changes are OK. I suggest also inserting "or equipment" after "handling characteristics".

The name "Vessel performance" does not suggest that this attribute includes equipment, but I have not been able to think of a better name.
