Specific rules for S-122 (MPA):
* S-122 data sets can encode only Wreck features corresponding to artificial reefs or with status=13 (historic).
* If it is required to encode a restricted area around a historic wreck, it must be done using a Restricted Area feature with attribute category of restricted area = 10 (historic wreck area). In addition, the wreck itself must be encoded as a Wreck feature with attribute status = 13 (historic). (S-101 DCEG (2014 baseline) 13.5.2)
* A subsurface fish aggregating devices (FAD) consisting of a vessel that has been deliberately sunk to form a fish haven should be encoded as a Wreck feature (ref. S-101 DCEG (2014 baseline) 13.6.1).

S-101 feature used in S-122 to encode historic wrecks and artificial reefs.
Many nations have designated areas around certain wrecks of historical or cultural (e.g., sea graves) importance to protect the wrecks from unauthorised interference (e.g., by diving, salvage, or anchoring). Artificial reefs are often used as fish havens.<br>
