[[User:Rmm|raphael]] 00:08, 25 August 2009 (UTC): This attribute demonstrates one solution to the problem of creating multi-language datasets. It merely uses the INFORM attribute from S-57 and adds an attribute that specifies the language used in the accompanying INFORM. Since it is a complex attribute, applications will be able to determine the language of the content in INFORM by examining the value of the [[LANGGE]] variable attached to that instance. An object could have multiple instances of the INFOML attribute, each in a different language. (TSMAD is expected to examine the issue of multi-language datasets.)

Given INFOML, the NINFOM attribute (Information in national language) is no longer needed.

I propose we participate in that discussion, and consider reopening the discussion about complex attributes for these items when something tangible has come out of that.
